Seems there are some new enchantments on lootgen
I saw that deathblock giving 3% to negative spell

What I have seen so far is the new enhancement system combines with different classes/prestiges and such but there is also the new effects that come from weapons and items to take into account.. My suggestion is still: Take some time to get to know al that's new and how it realy works in the game. Not just how the numbers seem compared to what you were used to. I have heard so many people (guild and non guild) moan and complain and cuss about the update while it was just live for a couple of hours. Gladly also some people did take some time and found that they liked a lot of things about the new system, even though there's a lot to get used to and change is scary I am gonna give it some time before I "judge" but for now, I have a good feeling about it .

Here is my first feedback I have only converted one char (the one that is not in guild) He is a lvl 8 dwarf barbarian I didn't used my LR+20 Skills : he is a barbarian, so no need for skill ;D Nothing changed Feat : i used the free Feat exchange to remove Toughness and add 2HF Enhancement : mostly the same as before, some basic Dwarf (tougness, CON) and rest mainly from Frenzied berserker Gear : he has bad gear, nothing changed. I played some quests (sewers in deneith) and found some good stuff (helm that add 1 damage) Summary : he has more hp than before and hit harder (add some bonus from Ravager). Basically, not very different For my other characters, it is a lot harder, and i am still looking at the possibilities Enguebert : human cleric 5, paladin 2, wizard 1. This char is gimped (wiz1 was for feat and force enhancement). Will probably changed to paladin3/cleric5 (and go for cleric 17) Nathanaiel : dark Elf rogue 2/wizard17. Seems he will be stronger. Enhancement from Dark Elf (basic) and around 35-38 pts for archmage and palemaster. Both prestige at same time (no capstone) Will need to LR to add spellcraft, but i will probably try first without changing skills Snortie : halfling dragonmark rogue 1/barbarian 4/ranger 3 (going for rogue 2/barbarian12/ranger 6) For this char, i will gain feats, but enhancement is a nightmare !! I see interesting stuff in 6 tree+racial one !!! Don't know yet how i will do it

So far limited changes for me. I got Void (Barbarian life) done and he is better than he was prior to the change - mainly because I chose to make him a staff-weilding barbarian and now he has abilities designed for using a staff (thank you rogue splash). I was going to take him to 18 barb but now will probably go up to 5 rogue to unlock all of those trees - they just look better to me than the barb trees.
My pally looks to be tougher than he was before the update. The new abilities, such as stunning demons and chaotic outsiders, are passive instead of using up a turn attempt as before. The new big strike (forgot name) can insta-kill outsiders up to 1000hp and extra damage to those over. Didn't lose a thing I cared about on him.
Rogue is freaking awesome now. Not that they weren't before, but I have a level 15 rogue that already has all of the abilities he wouldn't have had until 18 plus new drow racial abilities seem fantastic.
The jury is still out for me on Spyt. The monk abilities seem great as you are leveling and I took them to play with. May have to redo him though once I get more familiar with things as the abilities I took seem redundant with the ED abilities Spyt has.
All in all I'm favorably impressed with the new system so far - love anything that lets me customize to what I want instead of "having" to follow "X" template to contribute.
My biggest worry is power creep, the tougher the characters are, the tougher the mobs have to be to give the same challenge until you reach a point where new people logging in are lost and hopeless. Same concern I have with going to level 28 cap. It killed EQ and a few other games I've tried. Hope it doesn't hurt DDO.

Agreed Spyt, but what I'm seeing so far is that the monsters aren't scaled to the power given to the players. That could just be me and the quality of my party members - mostly old timers who have built themselves into super fighting machines.
As for people logging in and being totally lost, well, that would be me on any given day. Boo and I enjoy a sense of the nostalgic, doing the "remember when we first did.." Man, this was one tough game back then. Clueless, squishy, on our own, we were often overwhelmed.
I'm liking/loving the changes I've had time to play with so far. Again, it's the quality of friends that make this an easy transition. There was help, banter, chatter and the first tentative steps into quests and fighting arenas.

For me, only having 2 true Toons both pure class, the change only took 8 hours to complete.
The Arti was easier, him being WF, at lvl 16, gave me a lot of cool options, still got to go adventuring with him, but its looking good.
Narkon, lvl 20 barb, well I didn't get a capstone, cause I like to many things from 2 of the 3 trees and well didn't like eithers capstone.
I write more as I get more time to play.

Some feedback from my paletrapper
I cannot take anymore enhancement from Rogue (lvl2 only) but i can heavily invest in archmage AND in Palemaster I also invest into basic Dark Elf (6 pts) for +2 INT
- More INT (total +6, before +2) - Skeleton Knight is a lot stronger (heavily invested, but it is worth it) And now they have a command bar !!! - gained some spellpower. Before update, i had some good elements (fire, elec). Now all elements are good. Just with spending pts in tree, i get 60 spell power, +16 from spellcraft (no pt in skill yet). - I have now the archmage SLA (evo) & arcane bolt Between arcane bolt, magic missile (maximized), chain missile (maximized), i can do lot of force damage for few pts (before i had nearly no spellpower in force)
Dodge : i have 11% dodge !!!
Bracers of air (2%) + 1% dodge slotted. Total 6% (it is doubled !!!) Tunique of ice with mobility slotted : 2% !!!! Bone armor enhancement, with wrait : 3%

Spyt, monk seems like a headache to me still. I spoke to Oz, Lozlo, and people from the titan user chat. I still cant really adapt Kealdor as much i liked him before for the most part. He seems more like a caster trapped in a monk body. My dps went down about 1/3rd from what i saw in new quests. I lost being to quick dps bosses between void strike and tod. Alot of people i ran with in the quests yesterday like expected me to have rise of the phoenix out of shintao because its a free once per rest autorez. And were like umm why did you not take this? like they thought i was stupid for not taking it. I like the Ki shout from Shintao thats pretty cool right there since thats exactly what i was trying to build towards on him a dps who morph right into a tank when needed. i cant really tr him since none of my others are epic and id still like to be to run FoT + CitW. I ended up spending in mostly the Mystic tree because Ninja didn't look appealing really except ToD but I wanted Void Strike more since thats awesome to erase people from existance in pvp
Cealdors toast as fvs as well to much spell power gone for me to heal as well as i did with just empower heal on i needed empower heal AND empower on. Didn't find anything i liked at all in FvS but he's halfway through the 2nd life so i dont know what to lr into possibly cleric just for a better tree - ill have to check that tree out on Sealdoor

I really liked the new monk enhancements that I was able to play with. On the other hand, most of the moves I use are from ED, so the few extra I cared about weren't hard to incorporate. Play with that TREE, Ceal. You can reset it for a little plat. You'll be ok once you figure it out.

After all that figuring out yesterday on Narkon, trying to get it right for him, it looks like my realization of my ED, that I need to just TR him.
So I was an idiot and made the mistake of picking Magister on Narkon's first life (Wiz), but to eager to experience the TR affect, so I TRed without achieving a single lvl in it. Then FVS, but by the time I reached around lvl 20, I had convinced some annoyed with me, to TR with me for a mad rush to the next life. He had thought his current life gimped. Well we did not exactly make the rush I had hoped for, due to real life, but I got to 20 before the update.
Now I looking at a lvl 20 barb building on the Magister ED, thinking, you know, maybe another TR into an Arti would be better, I seem to like the Arti better (can a fighter be made into a ranged attacker? lol ).
Then there was that mentioning that update 20 would affect TR and xp, and well now I just don't know. lol

Meemau yea im going to try reworking the trees again tonight on Kealdor hopefully with better luck. But i think im just going to put Cealdor into an sorc since that was pretty straight forward but i still want to see cleric which i didnt yet. i hoped on my air savant first to rebuild and im sure ill be able to tear stuff up more then before now with him anyway even tho i need to lr him for spell craft and int. his spell power was actualy a bit more then it used to be and thats without spell craft >.> so hes sitting 189 electric atm at level 19 with a -1 in spell craft. going to edit later and add what he has after spell craft is added
the electric went up to like 230 with the spell craft

I ended up taking the Jade Strike and Banishing from Shintao tree and enough abilities to give Spyt all of the silver/cold iron/etc DR bypasses. I took nothing from Ninja. I took none of the healing abilities (no free rez for Spyt either as the others are prereq's). Most of my points I took from the "caster" one (can't remember name of that prestige atm) to add fire damage to my attacks, make mobs more vulnerable to different damages, and deal force damage with ki (which is why I said a lot of it seems redundant with the ED abilities). All in all I see no drop in DPS on him from before - actually minor increase with the added force and fire and ED's are a little more power as they seem to get the force(?) spell power bonus. I get about 47 more damage from lily petal now for example.

A quick note about turning With a level of paladin, you can take divine light that does 6/12/18D6 to undead with turning That means even if you don't turn, undead take lot of damage With my cleric 6/paladin2, the graverobber was a cakewalk (easy and hard) Run, gather undead, and spend turning and they fall like flies

Another note about update 19 : i was rather forced to switch to the english version
Before, i was playing with the french version, but since MoTu, french and german version are not supported anymore
That means new stuff (like new power on items, or quest infos) were in english even if you play the french/german version. Not really a problem
But here with the new enhancement, this was a nightmare Description of the enhancement were either - correct - blank - fill text (like "TBD" or "frenzied_furY_descritpion") - completly false (the archmage evocation SLA lvl 1 give cyclonic blast in place of magic missile !)
So to be able to choose my enhancement, i needed to switch to english version (and i will stay, as the french version has too many missing text)

Archmages can no longer take secondary school sla, so now they're one trick pony all the way down. Might as well spec for palemaster. I'm generally dissatisfied with my build losing all the cheap cc or the cheap insta kills - can't have both anymore.
