I'm getting the same error. Any tips on fixing it (or even confirmation that someone is NOT having this issue, so that I know it's something I need to figure out how to fix) would be fantastic.
On a potentially related note, is there a site which lists definitively if the servers are up and running or not? I'd feel pretty silly trying to fix this "bug" if it's actually just caused by the servers not being up after maintenance yet, and the developers not including the extension of the maintenance times into the launcher news.

Wait patiently for inspection to end. In fact, there is a site listing server status: www.jedi.net/~binns/DDOStatus/index.htmlThey all are green right now, but "value null" is often the login server problem.

Ah, never mind, finally managed to find the answer to my own question. forums.lotro.com/forumdisplay.php?3-Announcements-amp-Service-UpdatesGranted, that's technically the lord of the rings online site, rather than the dungeons and dragons online site, but it seems they do mainenance for all of their games at once, and in my opinion the LoTR site is much more intuitively organized. Apparently the maintenance WAS extended, and they just didn't include that vital little tidbit of information in the laucher news items.

That would require them to do something efficient ans useful, I'm surprised this lot can manage to find the plug to switch the servers back on.

y. 5 pm means 11 pm for me... Which means I won't get to play at all tonight. Might log on, though, if they don't extend it even further.

The lag has gone, no entrace crashes, no freezes oh how wonderfull... oops I must have been dreaming waiting for the re-start I had hopes of the lag going away, but it didn't see fit to stay away. You're a lag, lag, lag... laggity lag. Every mob encounter in King's Forest brought it's own special form of lag. I guess Turbine figures they're leveling the playing field with 6 healthy questers locked in lag fighting a mob of thirty assorted baddies that don't seem to be affected by lag. Ah, but it's US6 30 slayers to MOB30 6 deaths... Yeah, they need us to take a lagicap.
