I tired accessing the ip-adresses, but it only gives me "Apache test page" You have to copy and paste the entire link into the address bar. For some reason, the forum html broke the link.

Official help from them(Turbine) probably not because its not a "Official fix"
On Win 7 1) Goto C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc 2) Find File named "hosts" 3) Right click "hosts" 4) Select Open 5) From the list it shows select Notepad 6) Paste the following into the end of the file 74.201.102.43 74.201.102.42 forums.ddo.com# 74.201.102.11 patch.ddo.com# 74.201.102.13 gls.ddo.com# 74.201.102.13 gls-auth.ddo.com# NS2.DNS.TURBINE.COM 74.201.102.8# NS3.DNS.TURBINE.COM 74.201.102.7# NS1.DNS.TURBINE.COM 74.201.102.19# 7) On the menu bar in Notepad select File 8) Click Save 9) Close Notepad 10) Enjoy DDO Again lol this is all greek to me I dont have a clue how to fix this does anyone have a number to call and get help? Edit: Thread Stickied and put in public chat so everyone in our guild who visits our forums can view and find this thread. (Any complaints about me doing this take it up with me)

What they don't tell you is that you have to open Notepad as Administrator before you can access and save the file.

Game is working normally now. USA east may experience problems, should clear as correct dns addresses propagate. If you added the fix to hosts file, consider removing it (after everything works again). Leaving it won't impact your gameplay, but if someday turbine decides to change their server address, and you forget about the hosts changes, you will be left with "host not found" and wondering what is wrong.
P.S. DDO forums seem to have changed address to 74.201.102.43 instead of 74.201.102.42, hence why advising against hosts modification.

also Europe may experience problems. If so, use Google DNS (8.8.8.8).

I meant I tried accessing myddo via ip: 74.201.102.43 and that gives me Apache test page. But when I posted yay! myddo works, I was able to access myddo and get into the game without tweaking anything.

Accessing server by ip can by all means display the apache test page. Domain names usually have port number or subpatch attached to ip, but I don't know those for ddo. DNS is broken again for europe, refer to hosts fix till then: *** Open your C:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts file and paste this at end of it: 8.8.4.4 # Google 8.8.8.8 # Google 74.201.102.11 patch.ddo.com # Patch Server 74.201.102.11 patch-lm.ddo.com # Lamannia Patch Server 74.201.102.13 gls.ddo.com # Game Server 74.201.102.13 gls-auth.ddo.com # Login Server 74.201.102.13 gls-lm.ddo.com # Lamannia Game Server 74.201.102.13 gls-auth-lm.ddo.com # Lamannia Login Server 74.201.102.42 forums.ddo.com # Forums 74.201.102.43 www.ddo.com # Website (ip for ddo.com was incorrectly typed as 74.210.10 3.43)

Anyone else having problems getting into the game today? The client opens and allows me to log on, but when I pick a world and it starts loading, it is unable to connect to the authentication server and times out, i.e. I get a time out error. I'm pretty bummed out, because I wanted to play for a few hours before I have other things to do. I tried Orien and Cannith, but I suppose if it's a problem with the authentication server, then they prob use the same one.

I can log in normally. Just in case - try reverting the hosts changes if you had used them.

I hadn't touched the host file, but tried adding the work around to it today to see if it would make a difference, but no. I did purchase MotU was it yesterday or 2 days ago, could that perhaps have an effect?
