so last night in between chrono and adq i decided it would be worth while to kinda make some type of file with notes about every raid in and just about raiding itself. I came up with the conclusion of a powerpoint presntation. I would use word but idk it just doesnt seem right to me. So anyway i was working on this last night and this morning and here is what i have come up with feel free to check it out. Edit 1 8/11/2017: future updates will go as attachment on this post. i know the content is different between the power point and the pdf but those are the currents of each right now.

Thumbs up for providing the pdf version for office allergic people.
Presentation is good for quick shakedown, but some slides could use addition of "crucial information".
Tempest Spine - fire and ice bosses must die within 30 seconds of each other. This might not be clear to newcomers.
Reaver's Fate - stay in corner - boss will cast "fly" spell that cause you to float up to ceiling, where nine orbs of doom spin. Do not kill boss until all orbs are lit/spinning. Leader will call when to kill. After that party proceed to mastermind puzzle room. Kill whatever monsters spawn and let the puzzle guy make his work.
Shroud part 5 - there are actually 2 possibilities for elemental - fire and earth. Both are kited till everyone is ready.
A Vision of Destruction - getting to this raid requires venture through subterrane. Lag is very common, call for help if you're lost. There are four buttons to be lit, then middle one is pressed to drop fire barrier. Middle button kills - let the guy blessed by cleric divine intervention touch it. Once inside raid, there is shrine. Rest and buff. When everyone is ready, click on portal. After zoning in DO NOT MOVE. Casting spells is allowed, but making a step starts the boss fight. There are 8 trap boxes around the arena, let rogue get them while party kills the trash. Boss will call for reinforcements at certain percentages of health. Always clear trash first. When nearly dead, boss will summon exploding fire bats. Arcanes should prepare area with webs before that happens (otto will not work). Kill boss fast. It is generally required to bring some remove curse pots, as boss attacks might cause healing curse that prevents cleric from healing you.
Also some general advice for all raids: 1. Do not pull aggro unless you are the main tank. 2. Don't touch buttons/levers/altars/chests/portals unless specifically allowed by leader. 3. Have speakers on. You don't have to talk, but leader will issue orders by voice. Ask for written clarification if you didn't understand some phrase. Here a request to raid leaders - voice chat is sometimes hard to hear or understand, when issuing roles (crystalbreaker etc), write please. 4. If you are able to use them, bring raise dead scrolls. Sometimes cleric need to be resurrected too. Can be substituted by raise dead clicky from greensteel 2xPos. Some areas prohibit raising - shroud phase 4 and reaver's fate for example. 5. Grease is fun, but causes ban. Any activity impending party progress will get you blacklisted and most likely left as soulstone in far corner.

Few words about Hound of Xoriat:
Getting to raid requires venture through subterrane (lag is common) and includes fighting some beholders - deathblock item is mandatory.
First timers may be asked to kiss the hermit beholder at entrance.
After zoning in, do not move - it will start timer. Move only when all is ready. Casting spells is ok.
Party splits into three groups - cleaners, that run around map and kill everything that spawns; charmer, that uses the charm stones; and puppy keepers who stay in center and buff/heal the puppies. Do not pick anything drat dropped on floor, unless you are designated charmer.
Cleaners - portals around map will spawn enemies. First some renders, then beholders. Do not let enemies get to center, especially beholders that could dispell charm on puppies. Call when charm stone drop for charmer to collect.
Puppy keepers - this usually consist of tank, who keep Xyzzy (raid boss) aggro till puppies are prepared. Healer keeps everyone alive, and buffer (usually arcane) buffs puppies with haste, blur, stoneskin and cast globe of invulnerability in event of "bees". Do not use break enchantment near puppies, as it may break charm. Do not hurt puppies unless raid leader specifically commanded "charm two", thus allowing one of them to be slain. They can be webbed and generally kited around till charmer do his work. Do not aggro Xyzzy - it hurts. Around 50-80 damage each time she trotts over you, causes knockdown. (Casting buffs or healing puppies may cause this) Puppies are the only thing that can hurt mother, till she becomes vulnerable near the end. Keep them alive. Raid must be completed quickly, or portals start spawning stronger and stronger enemies (beholders are bad sign).
After raid is completed, you can grab loot, offer something for rolls and pick collectible bags.

"About" is ok, but you could put it at end, where credits are. You know, skip to the good stuff ;-).
From the layout perspective, maybe you could drop obvious titles like "raids continued" and put the raid name itself there, then list the contents. Same for listing parts of shroud raid - use Part x as title, then list what is needed to do. Will save some space and make it less redundant.
Move the slide with buttons clicking (#54) before the fight description - they are in wilderness zone.
Continue the good work. When we get a final version, expect very long and annoying grammar check in form of foreigner who thinks he knows english ;-).

Ok , so, with my limited DDO raiding experience there are a few things I noticed right off the bat.
A section labeled "DO NOT RAID WITHOUT Items"
A section labeled "Love your clerics, DO NOT COME TO RAID WITHOUT items"
First being gear , second being consumables that make clerics love you.
Regarding the first : heavy fort , deathblock , raid-specific weaponry, your A Game etc..
Regarding the second : remove curse, poison removal (if not worn)cure disease pots and the like. Lastly, Dood, syntax!!Grammar!.....no just kidding, only one glaring error I found there. Overall, solid write up from what I have experienced
edit: grammar and layout

Raid gear should be obvious matter, but often "obvious" means "unknown" to new players. In order of importance:
Rule 0 - stay alive. Dead you can't help anyone, you can't even be cannon fodder.
1. Fortification item. WF are good with Moderate fort item, others need Heavy fort. Do not enter any high level quests if you don't have 100% fortification - one lucky crit and you might find yourself dead. Even if you have hp to survive that, it will hurt alot. Fortification makes you also immune to sneak attacks.
1a. Deathblock. Mandatory in some raids, optional in other. In Shroud there is only one thing that can insta-death you - one of lieutenants in part 2, but he's 1 in 3 spawn chance.
1b. Blindness ward. Not necessary in most raids, but finding your screen black out of sudden can be deadly, especially because enemies will get free sneak attacks and crits on you (fortification negates).
1c. Buffs. Do ask for resists or invite if you don't have 30 point resistance to all 5 elements.
2. HP. I don't care what class you are, +6 con item is mandatory (round down for lower level characters). Put on whatever raises your hp - greater false life, toughness item, shroud hp item, guild enhancement. Healers can't help you, if you go from 100% to 20% with one hit. They will also waste sp when hitting you with high end healing spells that restore 300% of your hp. Warforged are welcome to have at least one tier of healer friend enhancement (unless you have so low hp that heal spells fixes you 100%, but you might consider to reroll then).
3. Damage. You are in raid to help, not stand around. This might be causing damage, healing damage or some other support role. You should always take weapon that can deal full damage against enemies and boss (bypass their dr). If you aren't sure what to take, ask. No one will be angry if you can't remember whether Arraetrikos is vulnerable to cold iron or silver. You also want +6 stat item of your attack/damage abilities. Anything else is tertiary (we remember that primary is con). As a caster, choose spells that enemies aren't immune to, and keep spell damage boosting items on you. If you go for support role (like webbing everything that moves), make sure your DC is good enough.
4. Pets. You know, "summon older brother" and all that stuff. They are useful, but can be annoying and cause raid to fail or be screwed up. Always ask if you can summon something if you are not familiar with raid. Summons last for 10 minutes and can't be rid off unless killed by enemies. Also apply to artificer Iron Defender and pale master skeletons.
5. Stay alive. Whether you run around chugging pots, or hide in corner, you are more valuable alive than dead*. If you can manage to raise the healer, it's another asset.
*There are times when we prefer some players dead. Like starting fights before we are ready, clicking on altars, and kiting blades into group. Not listening to raid leader is also "unraisable" offense.
APPENDIX A - where to get items
- auction house - pawn shops - crafted by friendly guildie - free items offered in guild chat - chest loot
Most of what I wear is genloot stuff. With some patience you can get fully geared paying half base price or less for items. Just fish the ah for items with maximum bonus you can wear (+6 to stats and +15 to skills is game max). Some uncommon or hard to get items can be cafted - like superior stability or spell focus (school) +2. You might want to hunt for some named items. Look for ones with +max to stat or skill, or unique capabilities (toughness etc). If you have choice between named item with +5 to stat and genloot stuff, wear the +6 item from ah instead.
I personally have only one named item now - Tinker gloves. Wearing them only because party fished like 4 in one run, and I still didn't find +6 dex with open locks cheap on ah then. Would totally pass them if anyone in party wanted. Previously I had Cloak of Shadows, because it had nice name and both sneak skills in one slot. Bought it in pawn shop. So as you see, running with genloot items is totally doable. And less grind.

I actually feel funny to be checking the grammar in this - I'm not an english native speaker after all.
I messed with some phrases and added some clarifications. I hope you won't be offended by changes (read as: "I broke everything I could".)
"Raise Dear" is the most funny error I found so far. Maybe I should leave it xD.
"Mindslayer" is another mishap, or they are actually called that?
I hope my Open Office thingy didn't mess anything in file.
And in case if ACTA or other crazy thing actually goes live, I grant you a right to comment, modify and distribute the changes I made, provided you mention my nick somewhere in there ;-).

Not sure if you're serious about the flagging all words as errors, but that often happens when program messes the text language property (my bad for using free one, but I'm not touching any MS products). Try marking the text and going to tools/languages or wherever is that in your program. I personally hate using "office" programs because they make the work take twice as long and break everything all the time. Html and notepad are the ultimate tools.
On a side note - Firefox has built in grammar check. It even marked the browser name when written lowercase ;-).
Raise Dear is the ultimate alias for calling "rez!".

it did but after reading your reply i was able to fix it so the spelling error lines went poof although the outline view of the slides the text is giant but.....the text on the slides themselves are still same size so its all good Not sure if you're serious about the flagging all words as errors, but that often happens when program messes the text language property (my bad for using free one, but I'm not touching any MS products). Fixed minor spacing error on one slide about HoX Edit: I moved the thread to public since we have members who have not registered yet as members as to make the raid available for them to read Also I would like to link additional info I have recently found ddowiki.com/page/What_should_I_bring_to_a_raid%3Fddowiki.com/page/Help!_Am_I_Raid_ReadyEdit (Added From Post March 28th 2012): Sorry i've been lazy when it comes to the guide havent touched it to update in a while. Havent been able to work on incomplete sections due to lack of being flagged & having example videos of those runs Edit 2 : Out of curiousity I added a poll to this thread to see if people actually used my guide Edit 3: 5/30/2015 Fixed link broken from move to proboards 5
